The Department of Management is organising a variety of events in 2011/12 for students to plan their next career steps.

Career Launchpad

5 October 2011, 1400-1600, FWB 1.71 with a follow up in SCR 2.87 

The career launchpad session is the essential session for any students who want to play full-out in landing the job or internship they really want. The department’s careers adviser, Jeff Riley, will explain how the graduate labour market works, the timescales for internship and job applications and, in a practical section, get you signed up to all the key sources for vacancies and information and campus employer events. He will give you CV and application form guidelines and let you know how Careers can help. Working in Management Consultancy - A Presentation by qedis

Careers Forum & Fair

The annual careers forum & fair is a great place to meet with potential employers and alumni from the Department. Accenture, American Express, Deloitte and Procter & Gamble are confirmed participants with more to join. With two sessions in parallel there is ample opportunity to learn more about potential careers and to network with potential employers. Don’t miss it!

Workshop: Applying to Accenture

Are you ever thought about management consultancy as a job? If so, this workshop is for you. You will have the opportunity to learn from Jeff Riley on how to land a position with leading management consultancies such as Accenture.

Information Session: Microsoft Imagine Cup

13 December 2011, 1300-1500, K4.31, King's Building, Strand

 At this session Microsoft will introduce the Imagine Cup. There will be an opportunity to form teams. Teams should consist of four students with a mix of skills with some members having technical expertise and others knowledge of business and management.  As the focus of the project is on solving real-world problems it will be important to understand the needs of people who would use the technology and to ensure the solution is practical and sustainable. Workshop: Working in the UK for International Students

This workshop will be for international students wishing to find work in the UK. The workshop will focus on strategies international students can employ to gain work experience in the UK.

Internships with the British Museum

Are you dreaming of working in the cultural and creative industries? Would you like to learn more about fundraising? Then this unique opportunity might be for you. The British Museum is offering flexible internships for suitable undergraduate students at King’s College London. The internships are offered on a volunteer basis with a structured approach to skills development. KCL Careers Service

In addition to the services offered by the Department, please consult the KCL Careers Service. The Careers Service can assist you in preparing CVs, applications, interviews and assessment centres for internships and graduate jobs. The main careers service is on the Strand Campus and you are invited to explore the wealth of resources there.
