Professor Janet Walsh
Janet Walsh is Professor of Human Resource Management and Employment Relations. She has a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Leeds and a Masters and PhD from the University of Warwick.
Her principal research activities are in the areas of human resource management and flexible work arrangements; working-time, gender and the work-family/life interface; call centres and employee well-being, and the human resource management practices of multinational corporations. She has undertaken a study of the temporal and organisational experiences of part-time employees and an analysis of the factors associated with work-life imbalance among female and male hospital doctors. Currently, she is engaged on a study of harassment and bullying. She is also working on a project concerned with retention, career development and work-life balance in professional law firms.
