King's College London Polling Club
The King’s College London Polling Club offers students the chance to learn about how opinion polls work through hands-on experience. Supervised by Professor Roger Mortimore, the Polling Club each year plans a short survey of public opinion on a topic of their choosing, and designs the questionnaire. Ipsos MORI’s professional interviewers put the questions to a representative sample of the adult British public, and the Polling Club then analyse and report the results.
The Polling Club includes graduate and undergraduate students studying a wide range of subjects at King’s, who meet regularly during the Spring Term to make decisions on details of the survey and to discuss the results. Membership has closed for this year, but we expect to open applications for the 2017-18 Polling Club in November.
King’s College London Polling Club is a joint initiative of the Department of Political Economy at King’s and Ipsos MORI, as part of the King’s Ipsos MORI Partnership.
This year’s survey was conducted by Ipsos MORI in February 2017. The results were published by Ipsos MORI and the Independent. You can also view the press release on Ipsos MORI's website here, and a news story on the King's College London website here.
