Worcester, Sir Robert

Sir Robert Worcester, KBE, DL, is Visiting Professor of Public Opinion and Political Analysis at ICBH.

He was the founder of the major opinion polling and social research organisation Ipsos-MORI (Market & Opinion Research International), London; and is a Past‑President of the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR).

Sir Robert is Chairman of the Magna Carta 800th Commemoration, which is preparing the national programme of events leading up to 2015 to celebrate the Great Charter and its impact upon world developments.  

He is author/co-author, co‑editor or editor of more than a dozen books and many articles in newspapers, magazines and in peer-reviewed professional journals. His current book, with Dr Roger Mortimore, Dr Paul Baines and Mark Gill, is Explaining Cameron’s Coalition (2010). He is a frequent broadcaster and commentator in the media on political and electoral events.

In 2005 he was appointed by Her Majesty the Queen a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) in recognition of the 'outstanding services rendered to political, social and economic research and for contribution to government policy and programmes'.
