Public Policy & Ageing programmes offer the opportunity for students with an interest in government, NGOs, politics, policy, the voluntary sector, development work and comparative studies to develop specialist understanding of policy and policy making for old age and ageing populations.

intercalated bsc gerontology

Our intercalated BSc in Gerontology is the only course of its kind in the UK. Population ageing means that there are now more people aged over 60 than children under 16 in the UK.  Whether in general practice or hospital based, it is likely that most doctor’s patients will be older people.

phd programme

The Institute of Gerontology is one of the leading gerontological research and teaching centres worldwide. PhD supervisors are at the vanguard of multi-disciplinary research and teaching, bridging the social and clinical sciences.
