Policy
The Department of Social Science, Health & Medicine will build on existing links and develop new ones, and promote its expertise appropriately, in order to ensure maximum policy impact.
We will:
-
Develop policy impact through building links with national governments, NGOs, and advisory bodies such as bioethics councils, national academies such as the Royal Society, and professional academies such as the Academy of Medical Science, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and the British Medical Association (and cognate bodies in other countries)
-
Develop policy impact through King’s Health Partners and through close links with Health Policy Evaluation Unit – particularly the Policy and the Implementation Sciences strands.
-
Develop policy impact through closer collaboration with existing units in King’s and with external partners, e.g. Pensions Policy Institute, King’s Fund, LSE.
-
Public and Policy Health Forum: Creation of a new social science-led forum for research-informed deliberative public debate and policy-related knowledge exchange. Links to HPEI and KHSC as appropriate.
