The 2012 NPT Briefing Book is now available for download.  The Briefing Book, which has now gone through many editions, is designed to be used as a reference book for delegates attending the Preparatory Committees and Review Conferences of the NPT.

The book is produced by the Centre for Science and Security Studies and the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, with funding assistance from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The book is compiled and edited by Prof John Simpson, formerly under the auspices of the Mountbatten Centre for International Studies at the University of Southampton and now with CSSS.  Because of the longevity of this activity and its focus, successive editions of the book are used by many delegations as their key resource and reference book for preparing their policy decisions at NPT meetings.

The book falls into two sections, one offering background material for NPT meetings including a history of how the NPT review process has evolved since 1975 and the second containing the texts of relevant treaties; agreements; NPT review process documentation; and UN and IAEA reports.
