Prof. Wyn Bowen, CACDA Secretary General Mr. Li Hong, and Dr. Jonathan Brewer sum up during the final panel discussion

On 27th and 28th February 2012 Centre for Science and Security Studies (CSSS) researchers and academic staff organised and participated in an outreach workshop in Qingdao, China, to raise awareness of the importance of compliance with UN sanctions in the Chinese private sector. CSSS, a research group in the Department of War Studies, organised the event with the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association (CACDA) and it was attended by over 40 industry participants and representatives of a number of Chinese government departments.

The outreach workshop forms part of the work of the Project on Proliferation Procurement, a UK government-funded project which seeks to build partnerships with the private sector to mitigate proliferation risks.
