Riazat Butt, Religious Affairs Correspondent for The Guardian to read War Studies

Riazat Butt, presently Religious Affairs Correspondent for The Guardian announced to Pause for Thought, on BBC Radio 2, on 28th February 2012 that she was leaving The Guardian to read for the MA in War Studies at King's College London. Chris Evans interviewed her breifly about War Studies. Riazat then went on to speak about her father's death and what Allah meant to him.

Riazat Butt presented guardian.co.uk's Muslim podcast, Islamophonic and is a fellow of the RSA

A RUSI report was released today authored by Professor Anatol Lieven, Professor Theo Farrell and Dr Rudra Chaudhuri suggesting the Taliban, led by Mullah Mohammad Omar, are open to a general ceasefire and/or political agreement which could lead to a US military presence in Afghanistan after 2014
