Appointed to develop the Department’s ground-breaking distance learning masters degree, “War in the Modern World” Anne-Lucie is Executive Director, e-Learning. “War in the Modern World” is an innovative masters degree and model for best practice in the creation and delivery of academically rigorous distance learning in the field of social science. It counts among its 150 world-wide student body, nearly 100 serving officers from 5 countries. Other professions that “War in the Modern World” students pursue are the law, working in NGOs, the foreign service, banking and finance. In addition to this programme there is now also Air Power in the Modern World available.
Previously, Anne-Lucie’s career was spent in academic and reference publishing in strategic studies, military history, history, and international affairs with Macmillan (now Palgrave), and Jane's Defence Publishing, where she published many of the leading scholars in these fields. In the digital field, Anne-Lucie has created for Microsoft a Chronology of World History. Miss Norton has board-director experience in several companies, including deputy managing director, and responsibility for editorial strategy, brand development, and acquisitions.
