Carola is the operations coordinator of the European Centre for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS). She holds an MA in European Studies from the Center for European Integration Studies (ZEI) at the University of Bonn, Germany, where she is also currently working on her PhD. Carola’s research focuses on European integration and the Energy Union, in particular the question whether or not energy policy can be the next great integration project as well as the requirements, conditions and obstacles for the development of the Energy Union and how crises and conflicts over energy have had an impact on energy related integration.
