Fees

Fees are payable for each year in which you study War Studies online programmes. For the MA programmes War in the Modern World and Air Power in the Modern World, therefore, fees are payable for two years.

Fees for 2013–14 are:

£8400 for the MA

£5600 for the Diploma.

Fees are payable in two equal installments.

Fees for 2014–15 will be confirmed during 201314.

Please note that fees are the same for UK/ EU and international students.

We regret that there are currently no student subsidies or scholarships available for War Studies Online programmes.

Reduced fee for ICSC(L), ICSC(M) or ICSC(A) applicants for War in the Modern World

MA War in the Modern World only: For 2013-14 applicants who qualify for 20 credits accreditation in respect of ICSC(L), ICSC(M) or ICSC(A) a reduced fee is payable for 2013-14:

£7400 for the MA

£4700 for the Diploma
Full fees will be payable in 2014-15.

MA Air Power in the Modern World only: only ICSC(A) graduates may qualify for the 20 credits towards this degree.

Special fee for RAF, MoD and other UK Civil Service applicants for MA Air Power in the Modern World (only)

Any UK Civil Servant, or any military personnel, Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, full-time or Reserve may be entitled to a special fee applicable to year one of two of MA Air Power in the Modern World only. For 2013-14 applicants who qualify, a reduced fee is payable:

£6600 for the MA

£3800 for the Diploma
Full fees will be payable in 2014-15.

Applicants believing they qualify for the reduced rate should provide evidence in the form of a written letter, with an official letterhead, from their chain of command, or line manager, as part of their application. This must be sent to:

The Defence Studies (RAF) Training Officer will establish the bona fides of the applicant and inform the War Studies Online Co-ordinator, Mrs Menisha Gor.

Any dispute regarding the entitlement for the special rate should be referred to the Director of Defence Studies (RAF) whose decision will be final.

Enhanced Learning Credits

UK armed forces personnel may be eligible for the Ministry of Defence’s Enhanced Learning Credits scheme. For further information on the ELC scheme and how to apply, see the MoD’s Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Services website.

Administration of these credits is entirely a matter for the Ministry of Defence, but several War Studies Online students have benefitted in the past. The King's College provider number is 1120: you will need for this your application.
