Delivering policy analysis
The Policy Institute undertakes and oversees robust policy analysis to inform and respond to government and other public and private sector organisations in the UK and internationally. Our priority is to deliver message-led, action focused insights that are clearly communicated. Delivered through five specialist Policy Research Units and an Analysis Team, our policy analysis activities are focused on responding to policy and proactively shaping and informing the policy agenda.
The Analysis Team take on a variety of policy research projects – both internal and external. Find out what the team are currently working on and the outcomes of past projects.
There are currently five Policy Research Units within the Policy Institute at King’s. From social care to cyber security, from higher education to the ‘science of science’ and humanitarian needs, they provide expertise on a broad range of topics.
King’s Commissions are the mechanism through which the Policy Institute seeks to set the policy agenda in areas where there is a particular gap. The King’s Commissions are typically major research projects that last between 12-24 months. By bringing together the Policy Institute’s rigorous analysis, with its networks and communications skills, the King’s Commissions are designed to stimulate debate and shape policy. In order to do this, our Commissions normally convene advisory panels of experts as well as engaging with partners to formulate policy recommendations. Current topics include London and Citizens Data.
Part of the Policy Institute’s vision is to develop an ecosystem for policy innovation focused on policy analysis. We continue to host the the Ramphal Institute, the Pensions Policy Institute, the UK in a changing Europe initiative and the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute, bringing mutual benefit to our partners and King’s.
