Mobilising policy impact
We mobilise policy impact by communicating in a way that policymakers can engage with easily - to ensure the best available evidence is used in policymaking. We employ a rich mix of traditional and innovative engagement mechanisms and seek to identify the most relevant and insightful knowledge from King’s research so this can be shared in a timely and effective way with key decision makers.
Our 'Issues and Ideas' series of policy pamphlets are designed to stimulate debate on contemporary, and often controversial policy issues. 'Issues and Ideas' act as a vehicle for leading thinkers and practitioners to share their insights with the wider community. Find out more here.
We produce message led publications of policy research delivered by researchers from within the Policy Institute and from external partners. These data driven publications provide action focused insights that are clearly communicated. Find out more here.
We run an annual policy pitching competition called Policy Idol. Open to all staff and students at King's, the competition gives applicants an opportunity to pitch a policy idea to a panel of experts from the worlds of politics, academia and industry. Find out more here.
The 'Communicating with policymakers' course delivered by the Policy Institute is designed to provide a set of practical tools and techniques that can be used to make sure that policy research makes a difference.
