How to apply

On this page you will learn about how to apply to King’s variety of degree programmes at undergraduate (bachelor degree) and postgraduate (master's degree) levels. Depending on the level of the programme that you are interested in, you will need to follow different procedures to apply to study at King’s.

King’s also offers short courses in Modern Languages, Summer Schools for pre-university students and current undergraduate students enrolled elsewhere, a Study Abroad semester, and Executive Programmes. You may apply to directly.

Foundation programmes

If you are interested in doing your undergraduate degree at King’s but you are currently studying in a school that offers a high school national diploma that is one year shorter than the UK A-Levels system or is not recognised as comparable for direct entry into our undergraduate programmes, you will need to first apply for a Foundation Programme. King’s offers two Foundation Programmes, one aimed at students interested in Humanities and Social Sciences and one for students interested in Science. These are open to students who want to continue studying at King’s but also those who are considering other top UK universities.

Undergraduate courses

King’s offers undergraduate courses in a very broad variety of subjects. 

If your school offers a national diploma that is recognised in the UK for direct entry into undergraduate degree, or if you are taking A-Levels, IB, APs or SATs in your country, then you must make an online application via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). You may apply to any of King’s undergraduate degree programmes through UCAS. View further information about the application process.

Postgraduate courses

To apply for a Postgraduate programme at King’s you will need to register on our online application system and then complete our online application form. 

Please be aware that the application process is different depending on whether you want to do your Masters or if you are looking at doing a PhD.

English Language preparation

If you wish to study at top UK universities and need to improve your linguistic and study skills before starting your graduate study, please check our six-month and one-year International Pre-Masters Programme.

If instead you need to improve your English Language Skills in order to be able to study at King’s or any other UK university, please check our Pre-sessional Programmes that run during the summer for 17, 13, 9 and 5 weeks and are open to all non-native English speakers.
