Latin America Welcome Event
On 4 October 2011 we welcomed our new students from Latin America to King’s. The evening was a great success, with over 70 students attending. Students have come to King’s from all overthe region, and on the evening we were able to welcome those from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina and Ecuador. The event gave everyone the opportunity to meet others from their home countries and to find out more about the services on offer to students. To view some pictures of the event, please click here.

Postgraduate scholarships for Mexican students
In November 2010 the Graduate School signed an agreement with FIDERH, a funding agency managed by the Central Bank of Mexico making the College eligible to receive FIDERH scholarships for Mexican Masters and PhD students wishing to study at King’s. The scholarships cover tuition fees and living expenses and come in the form of a 10-year loan at what FIDERH claim is the lowest interest rate in Mexico.
Professor Vaughan Robinson, Director of the Graduate School, said:
‘King’s is continuing to expand the number of scholarships it offers international students so that we are well placed to recruit the most talented postgraduates to our research community. We are delighted to be working with FIDERH to attract the best students from Mexico.’
Further details of the scheme can be found at www.fiderh.org.mx. Further details of all postgraduate funding opportunities available at King’s can be found at www.kcl.ac.uk/graduate/funding/database
