Funding & Awards

Funding & Awards

The College is committed to enhancing teaching and recognising excellent practice. A central fund encourages staff to develop innovative teaching. Each year staff are invited to apply for a grant from the College Teaching Fund to conduct a project to develop new approaches to teaching and learning. To recognise outstanding teaching the College presents Teaching Excellence Awards to individuals from each School. Students are central to this award and are invited to nominate candidates for selection.

In addition to the College’s opportunities for funding and awards, the College nominates three exceptional individuals engaged in teaching for the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) Individual Awards. Dr Mark Miodownik and Sharon Markless are recipients of this prestigious award and are National Teaching Fellows.
