Welcome to King’s Learning Institute. You are joining a highly successful group of people with a world-wide reputation in teaching and learning in higher education.
As you will see, we have an extensive programme of courses in teaching and learning, from a Certificate, through a Master’s award to a doctoral degree by research. We aim to ensure that all of our courses are of the highest quality, taking into account the best in contemporary ideas about higher level learning.
Staff working in KLI are highly experienced both as teaching practitioners and as researchers. Together we are able to offer major strengths in many areas of higher education teaching and learning.
Our teaching is informed by our research, which focuses on ways of understanding and developing the capabilities of all learners in higher education and professional settings, on the social and cultural context for learning and on the leadership of learning and teaching. All members of KLI publish widely and are leaders in their field.
As a department we are strongly committed to the improvement of teaching and learning – that is our mission. It follows that we are equally keen to ensure that our own teaching is excellent. We have recently revised a number of our programmes in response to participant feedback, and we will continue to be responsive in the future.
