Biography
I have been working at King’s college London since May 2011 as a lecturer in higher education. In my previous job (2007-2011) at the University of Chester I was Programme Leader for Education Studies in the Faculty of Education and Children’s Services. Prior to that I worked as a Lecturer in Education and Programme Director of a post-complusory teacher training programme at the University of Stirling (2000-2006). During the period 1992-1999, I was employed at different times by University College Dublin, The National University of Ireland Maynooth and Northern Illinois University, USA. I also gained a Doctorate in Education from NIU, my dissertation focusing on European Union education policy. My first Degree and Masters were gained from University College Dublin.
Postgraduate Supervision:
Previous masters and doctoral theses/dissertations I have supervised include:

I would welcome applications for postgraduate supervision in a wide range of areas, but particularly in lifelong learning and higher education, European Union public policy, politics and sociology of education, Habermas and critical theory.
