International Students

Accommodation

We understand how important accommodation is for international students particularly when many of you are coming to live in London for the first time. King’s has access to over 3000 places in its own halls of residence as well as intercollegiate University of London accommodation, offering a variety of options that include catered halls and self-catering flats.

New international students who have firmly accepted a conditional or unconditional offer with the College should expect to receive an offer of accommodation for their first year; providing they will be enrolled on a full-time programme of at least one year’s duration, have not lived or studied in the UK before and apply before the closing date.

Before completing an online application for accommodation, please consider the following:

  • The deadline for King’s accommodation applications for the next academic year is 30 June.
  • Applications are only accepted from applicants who have firmly accepted a conditional (CF) or unconditional (UF) offer of a place on an academic programme at the College. There is a limited number of places at each residence and due to overall demand no guarantee of a place at a specific residence or type of residence room can be given.
  • Applications should be submitted online. Go to the Accommodation pages and follow the instructions. Please make sure that you choose the appropriate application period according to your student status and year of application.
  • Allocations are undertaken by a random, computerised ballot system.
  • Applicants should rank ALL of the available residences in order of preference. Any residences not ranked by the applicant will be considered to be of equal preference. Applicants will be considered for any places which are available at the time of allocations.
  • As an alternative to King’s accommodation, many international students decide to privately rent a flat or room in a shared house. Advice on finding accommodation in the private sector is offered by the University of London Accommodation Office.
