Our overseas representatives are located in a number of cities around the world and can offer you advice about the choice of course, help you with the application process and assist you with your visa paperwork (details listed on relevant pages in Your country/region).
-
Your local British Council office can also advise you about official English language tests.
Programme choice
Choosing your programme of study is an important part of the application process. To see what programmes King's offers, please search through the online prospectus and make sure you check the entry requirements for your chosen programme. If your country is not listed there, please contact the relevant admissions office for advice or refer to Your country/region pages in this international section.
Also ensure that you check the English language requirements for your chosen programme. However, please note that they do vary from subject to subject so please check the relevant programme entry in the online prospectus for more specific details. Any students holding an English language qualification that is not listed in our prospectuses can check with the relevant admissions office before applying to see if it is acceptable.
How and when to apply
If you are interested in our postgraduate programmes (taught or research) you can apply directly to King's. There is no general College deadline to submit postgraduate applications although some programmes do have their own application deadlines so it is advisable to check the online prospectus entry for your chosen programme. We do strongly recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible as demand for places at King’s is very high.
All students including international, must submit their application online via the myApplication portal. If you are a prospective postgraduate research student, it is recommended that you also consult the Graduate School pages before you apply.
After you apply
Once you have applied to King’s, you will be given a username and password and will be able to track the status of your application, see if you’ve been invited to interview, and if your application is successful you can view your offer details or apply for accommodation, via the myApplication portal. International applicants will also be able to see information relating to the UK ‘points-based’ visa system. If, at any stage of the application year, you need to contact us about your application, please do so via your myApplication page.
Conditional and unconditional offers
When we contact you to offer you a place at King’s, we will make either a conditional or unconditional offer via the myApplication portal.
Conditional offers are made to students who cannot provide all the necessary documents (such as final exams results and English language certificates) when they submit their application. If you meet all the other requirements, we will issue a conditional offer. This means that you will be guaranteed a place upon successful completion of exams at a specified grade, receipt of an adequate English language certificate or any other condition that the School may consider appropriate.
Unconditional offers are made to students who submit their application with all the necessary documents and meet all the entry requirements. A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number will be sent directly to students holding an unconditional offer with King’s College London that require a student visa and you will also be sent an email containing information which you will need when making your visa application. The earliest you can use your CAS is three months before the start date of your programme at King’s, so it is important that you do not make your application any earlier than this. CAS numbers must also be less than six months old to be valid. Please refer to our Visa and immigration pages for further details.
