Pre-University Taster

Make the most of your summer and build your confidence ahead of university applications. Find out what it is like to study at one of the world's top universities. The Pre-University Taster will run from 21 - 24 August 2017.

What can I study?

Students can choose one of the following areas of study:

Entry criteria

This programme is for students enrolled in years 11 and 12, typically aged 16 and 17. To apply to this programme students will need to provide:

  • Official confirmation of high school grades
  • Personal statement
  • Reference letter from school
  • GCSE English Grade C (or equivalent)

All successful applicants will be required to sign a student code of conduct and supply a signed consent note by their parent/legal guardian.


The fees will be £300 which will include: 12 hours tuition, relevant course excursion, daily meal card for lunch and optional admissions advice sessions.

How to apply

Applications should be made online through King's Apply - our online application portal. We recommend you follow the application guidelines to help you submit your application successfully.

The application deadline is 30 June 2017, however early application is strongly advised.  There are only a limited number of places available on each course and applicants who meet the entry criteria will be offered a place on a first come, first serve basis. Please note that applications will not be processed until all documentation has been provided. Places are secured once the programme fee has been paid in full.
