Programme Leader Lynne Wainwright.
The profile of neonatal nursing continues to grow and expand. To reflect this, the BSc Neonatal Nursing allows practitioners to develop and advance the care of neonates within their own health setting. This occurs by allowing the student the flexibility to consider the needs of the baby in special and high dependency care and/or NICU depending on the practitioners' own area of work.
There is also scope for practitioners wishing to expand their role further, to undertake study to enhance their role within the context of their own working environment. There is an emphasis on evidence- based practice and the development of practice and leadership skills to promote quality care for neonates, infants and their families.
Entry requirements for this programme are effective NMC registration (RGN, RSCN, RN (Child) or RM), to be working within a relevant area of clinical practice and DipHE or equivalent of 120 level 5 credits.
