Utopian lab: A cross-media installation
King’s College Hospital began life in a workhouse on the Strand, and was propelled to notoriety by the surgery work of Joseph Lister in the late 19th century. The crusade to understand, save and compliment the human body and mind is the spice of Utopia itself.
‘I think one’ s feelings waste themselves in words, they ought all to be distilled into actions and into actions which bring results’ – Florence Nightingale
The Utopian lab is a contemporary glimpse of this crusade, of a cause that unites cultures, defines humanity and stands on the shoulders of giants. This exhibition will scroll fortnightly through the stories of present day work being carried out across the Health Faculties at King’s College London.
