King’s College London and the British Council hosted 15 Russian cultural leaders for a specially tailored executive education programme, Leading Culture in the 21st Century from 19 – 22 February 2018.
The four-day intensive course builds on King’s academic strengths in leadership and the university’s strong relationship with cultural sector partners. It invites participants to think afresh about global concepts of art, culture and identity in an ever-changing and increasingly connected world.
Building on King’s unique position in London, the programme offers access to leaders from the capital’s world-class cultural institutions and the event last week featured keynote presentations from sector experts including Executive Chairman of ITV Sir Peter Bazalgette, Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre, Jude Kelly and chief executive of the Creative Industries Federation, John Kampfner. Delegates also took part in live case studies at leading cultural venues inncluding the Southbank Centre and V&A as well as peer-to-peer learning and discussion.
Through immersive learning experiences, participants are challenged on issues of leadership, resilience, creative risk and business innovation and tasked with responding to a range of questions focused on cultural trends and workplace leadership.
Leading Culture in the 21st Century also provides opportunities to establish new partnerships and a creative environment to develop new ideas, exchange best practice and explore new approaches to cultural leadership.
