Tuesday 6 November - All Souls' Tide Service

17.30, College Chapel

We are replacing Choral Evensong with a Choral Eucharist for the season of remembrance. At this service, we remember our family and friends who have died, reading their names out during the service. The Choir will sing Duarte Lobo's 'Requiem for six voices'.

A solemn and traditional service of music and readings by candlelight, progressing from darkness to light.

Congregants are required to be seated by 17.20 for a prompt start to the service at 17.30. The duration of the service is approximately 90 minutes and admissions and exits during the service can only be facilitated while hymns are being sung to avoid disruption.

The outstanding Chapel Choir will be singing and mulled wine and mince pies will be served after the service.

Tickets will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Tickets can be booked via Eventbrite from the end of October.

Tuesday 11 December - Christmas Carols 

17.30, College Chapel

Traditionally this has been a more informal event to which we welcome all members of the King's community. This is a chance to sing all your favourite Christmas carols and the Chapel Choir will be singing. No tickets are required for this event, but in recent years it has been very full so come early to grab a good seat.

Wednesday 6 March - Ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service

The start of Lent is traditionally marked by services of repentance, where we receive a cross of ash on our foreheads. Join us for this service of penitence and repentance.

Tuesday 26 March - Passiontide Service

This wonderful candlelit service is similar in style to the Advent service and incorporates elements of the liturgy of the church for Lent and Holy Week.

09.30 - Eucharist service in the College Chapel

It is our tradition to sing hymns outside the gates of King's on the Strand and then process to the College Chapel for a Communion service. This is folowed by breakfast in Covent Garden.

 

The Chaplaincy organises special services to mark significant moments in College life and to celebrate Christian Holy Days and Festivals.  These are open to all members of the College and also to the public.

The Chaplains at Strand campus are Tim Ditchfield, Fr John McFadden, Alexander Fostiropoulos, Nigel Cowgill, Simon WoodmanImam Abdul Mumin Choudhury and Romana Kazmi. Tim is normally around all week, Nigel is available on a Monday, Abdul is available on a Tuesday, Fr John and Alexander are normally around on a Thursday and Romana is available on a Friday. Simon is available by appointment. George Haggett, one of our Chaplaincy Assistants for 2018/9, is normally around on Tuesday mornings, Thursdays and Fridays.
