Introducing King's Worldwide
King’s College London is a global-thinking university located at the heart of Europe’s largest and most cosmopolitan city. Thousands of students from across the world choose to study at King’s every year, and almost 40 per cent of our academic body comes from outside the UK.
King’s Worldwide is the university’s hub for its international activity, helping it to flow naturally throughout everything King’s does. It manages and builds partnerships
with the world’s best institutions, opening up opportunities for collaboration from student exchange to academic research. King's Worldwide also works to ensure internationalisation has a positive impact on students, staff and the institution as a whole.
Our exploration of King George III’s archives
is revealing unseen documents that tell us more about the entire Georgian period with the help of international partners, academics and students. And our Global Institutes, within our new School of Global Affairs
, are giving us an insight into contemporary issues around the world’s newest powers and economies that are affecting the decisions of policymakers around the world.
Perhaps most important is the effect internationalisation is having on our students. We offer some of the most innovative international courses and curricula in the UK, including dual degrees, and we are encouraging as many students as possible to get experience studying or working abroad as part of their degree. We want our students to have a global experience at King's, and we want to prepare them for success in today's global society.
Global university, global impact
As a world top 25 university (QS World Rankings 2016/2017) our high-impact research attracts the best staff and students from across the world to our campuses in central London.
Our Global Engagement team is responsible for implementing our International Strategy by working with academics, researchers and medical staff at King’s and with institutions outside the UK to take advantage of opportunities for international collaboration and exchange with other top universities across the world, from China to Mexico and from Germany to Australia.
They manage the links with our partner universities and institutions who want to work with King’s through research, training, student exchange and dual and joint degrees. We collaborate with our partners on a wide range of projects, and a large number of faculty-level partnerships allow our academics and students to get the best from the specific expertise of different universities.
King’s students: global citizens
Internationalisation enables King's students to become global citizens and to gain a different perspective on the world’s issues. Being immersed in an international environment gives them a stimulating student experience and prepares them for life after King’s.
Our Study Abroad office manages hundreds of student exchanges and placements in universities around the world, working with partner universities and supporting each individual student to make their study abroad experience as good as it can be.
Some students decide from the start that they want a truly global degree. Joint and dual degrees at all levels allow students to receive a certification from King's and our partner universities in some of the world's most stimulating places like New York, Paris or Hong Kong, spending an equal amount of time at both.
Our London Summer Programmes attract young people from across the globe who want to get a taste of life at King’s, while our programmes in Mumbai and Delhi have given over 1,700 aspiring students in India a different perspective on healthcare, marketing, management and more since 2012.
King’s also organises professional and executive education for governments, institutions and international companies to tap into the expertise of King’s academics through practical, intensive, bespoke courses intended to help their officials and employees think differently. Our academics provide training to governments from around the world in anything from counter-terrorism to management.
The King's Worldwide team is committed to working in a sustainable way, and is taking part in the NUS Green Impact scheme to try to reduce our impact on the environment.
