Associate Director (Operations) & Curriculum 2029 Project Lead

As Associate Director (Operations) of King’s Academy I provide strategic oversight of the operations of the team. As Curriculum 2029 Project Lead I lead the operational delivery of the Curriculum 2029 theme of the King’s Education Strategy 2017-2022.

Head of Skills Development

I am Head of Skills Development. This means that I lead the team supporting the development of students’ core academic and related skills. We do this both directly, via workshops, appointments and online resources, and also by working with academic colleagues to embed academic skills development within students’ programmes of study.

Academic Skills Advisor

As an Academic Skills Advisor, I design and deliver workshops and online resources to assist students on their academic journey. I'm able to contribute to embedding academic skills development within the curriculum.

RosemaryRosemary Purr

Academic Skills Advisor

As an Academic Skills Advisor, my role focuses on the development of students' academic skills across King's. This not only involves the design and delivery of sign-up workshops on core academic skills, but also provides the opportunity to work on embedded sessions alongside Faculty colleagues. Face to face sessions are complemented by the curation and creation of online resources, using a blended learning approach where appropriate.

As Head of Operational Support I lead the professional support for all King’s Academy activities including our programmes, events and network activities, King’s Educators Network, King's Education Awards and our annual conference.

Marketing and Events Officer 

As Marketing and Events Officer, my role is to provide proactive support for a range of events including Speaker Series, King’s Education Awards and Excellence in Teaching Conference. I am also responsible for providing administrative and marketing support for the programmes offered by King’s Academy.

As Business Support Officer, my role is to provide operational responsibility for the day to day functions of the King’s Academy Team.  I also develop and provide the overarching communications and marketing for the department.

Dr Jayne Pearson

Senior Teaching Fellow

I am a Senior Teaching Fellow. I am faculty liaison for Business School and SSPP for pedagogic development and support for academic staff. As part of the KA team, I develop and deliver workshops and programmes, including those for HEA accreditation. My particular area of interest is assessment and feedback.

Head of Professional Recognition and Development 

As Head of Professional Recognition and Development at King’s Academy I am the Lead for the HEA Recognition programme and part of the team supporting KCL colleagues with their initial and continuous professional development in Teaching and Learning. Areas of expertise include Curriculum Design, Teaching Observations and Mentoring. I am the Faculty Liaison for Nursing and Midwifery and the Dental Institute.

Senior Teaching Fellow

My main role is to lead the King’s Academy training and support for Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs).  This involves liaising with GTAs about their training needs, providing support at College level and working strategically with departments, faculties and programmes to enhance local provision.

Dr Mira Vogel

Senior Teaching Fellow

As a Senior Teaching Fellow in King’s Academy I am involved with programmes, events, and resources to support educational practices at King’s. I have particular experience in assessment and feedback, collaboration, multimodal authoring, inclusion and evaluation, and can bring insights about the potential and constraints of digital technologies in each area. I work with colleagues across King’s, and principally with Arts & Humanities and Law.

Programme Administrator

As Programme Administrator I provide administrative support and course coordination for all King’s Academy activities including our programmes, recognition schemes and events, including the Learning and Teaching programme, GTA Development programme, HEA Recognition at King's and Academic Skills for Learning.
