The King’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence is considering applications to the first round of its affiliate scheme. The scheme is aimed at King’s researchers and academics on any contract type and from all faculties, as well as PhD students. Successful applicants will have affiliate status to the King’s Institute for AI for an initial term of 2 years, which will allow them opportunities to:

Play an important role in defining and refining the broader Institute agenda, working to support their relevant Steering Group representatives and the Institute Leadership Team.

Meet researchers with a diverse range of backgrounds, to network, communicate and collaborate, and to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research that enhances discovery and innovation within the field of AI.

Have priority access to Institute events and opportunities (including seed funding schemes) and have priority access in proposing Institute supported and/or organised events, activities, and media to ensure wider visibility of their work within King’s and externally.
Affiliates will submit a brief standardised report each year on their activities related to AI and to the Institute and will be encouraged to attend and promote Institute event and to contribute to other Institute activities where time and expertise allows.

Applications are considered on a termly basis and will be reviewed by a selection committee drawn from the Institute’s Steering Group which is itself made up of representatives from all nine faculties at King’s. The first round of applications will be considered in early September 2023.
