King’s College London Association

Our Mission is to develop, engage and represent the King’s alumni community.

Our Vision is to act as the voice of an engaged alumni community to help achieve King’s vision to make the world a better place.

KCLA is a self-governing association of former students and staff who value and wish to maintain active links with King’s. Over decades, we have enabled alumni to participate in the King’s community, so making it more vibrant and cohesive. With the crystallization of King’s priorities in Vision 2029, we are close to finalising KCLA 2029: A Vision and Plan, 2019-22 which revitalises the Association’s commitment to support the College and to the service of society. The Chair ( would very much appreciate receiving your comments before it is finalised.

To act as the voice of an engaged alumni community

KCLA is run by alumni for alumni. We will inspire lifelong loyalty by providing members with more opportunities to meet with their peers through reunions, lectures and debates, dinners, sporting events and volunteering. We will draw wherever possible on the expertise and experience of both our members and King’s staff. Particular attention will be focused on facilitating a seamless transition from student to active ‘alum’. The character of events will be informed through consultation with members as part of an ongoing communication process. A regular newsletter will inform alumni about opportunities to attend open lectures and continue to interact with King’s.

To help achieve King’s vision to make the world a better place

KCLA embraces, and will become a key partner in delivering, King’s Vision 2029. This will be achieved in various ways, from the soft power of our rich contact network opening doors to the contribution of individual members. KCLA as an organisation will help develop departmentally-based communities of students, staff and alumni to deliver the service agenda and increase awareness of changing demands on human capital; we will support outreach to recruit students with great potential from all backgrounds.

We will achieve our mission by:

  • Providing opportunities for alumni to meet and reconnect with King's
  • Facilitating the development of cultural societies and sports clubs
  • Enagaging members by communicating clearly and relevantly with them
  • Strengthening the intra-mural relationships to facilitate the Plan's delivery
