The creative industries and the future of higher education
The Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries was represented by Professor Andy Pratt at the recent Creative Industries: Design for innovation conference on 27th June in Westminster.
The event was live streamed by Policy Review TV and was sponsored by Design Business Association, Creative and Cultural Skills, Creative Skillset, and Ukaidia.
Professor Pratt spoke on a panel 'Quality- what shall we teach them?' about the challenges of remaining innovative and relevant facing higher education and practice education in the multi-discplinary and fast moving field of the creative industries.
Specifically the panel addressed and discussed how representatives from the Royal College of Art and Central St Martins, along with King's College London were successfully meeting the challenge of 'educating people for jobs that have not been invented yet'.
