Mobile Studio is delighted to collaborate with King's College London to create a temporary pop-up folly for the Arts & Humanities Festival 2014.
The Strand Quadrangle is a long and relatively narrow space confined by the tall facades of King's College London's Strand Campus and Somerset House. In response to the 'underground' theme Uppe Folly will seek to encourage visitors to simply stop and look up - something we often forget to do in a dense and busy city such as London.
The Folly will provide a seating area and act as the backdrop to a whole host of events for the festival. When not in use, it will be a place to meet and mingle. The design of the folly will use Mobile Studio's signature modular design system.
Interactive graphic signage and way-finding solutions for visitors will be dotted across the Quad as part of Uppe Folly. The folly will also attract members of the public from the main road into the Quad, which is in itself an underused thoroughfare connecting Strand and the River Thames.
