Funding opportunities for MPhil and PhD
There are a number of ways in which you can obtain financial support to help you through your postgraduate studies. The College Fees & Funding pages contain plenty of information about financing your postgraduate studies, including Scholarships that may be open to you. Many of these competitions are open to students across the Faculty.

If you are a current or potential graduate student seeking funding for your studies you are strongly encouraged to consult the Centre for Doctoral Studies funding database for a complete list of the opportunities that may be open to you.
Below is a sample of awards that are currently available for currently enrolled students and students starting their studies in the new academic year.
- London Arts & Humanities Partnership
Up to 80 PhD studentships will be offered for postgraduate research students studying in the Arts and Humanities at LAHP’s three partner institutions: King's College London, School of Advanced Study (University of London) and University College London. Applications are invited from students who are due to commence their PhD studies in September and those who will have at least 50% of their period of study remaining as of the beginning of the academic year.
There is also a Department Small Grant Award available to MPhil/PhD students for up to £300. Further information can be found on the DDH PGR Small Grant Guidance (pdf) and DDH PGR Small Grant Form (doc), but the deadlines for applying are:
- Friday 6 January 2017 - 5pm
- Friday 28 April 2017 - 5pm
NB Students seeking the Department grant must show that they have also applied for any alternative sources of funding which might support their travel.
