Biography

Craig Moyes has a BA in English Literature and Philosophy from the University of British Columbia, a DEA in LIttérature et Civilisation Françaises from the Université de Paris III and a PhD in LIttérature Comparée from the Université de Montréal. He was Director of Studies in French at Christ's College Cambridge before coming to King's.

  • Québécois literature and film

17th- and 18th-century literature, especially as it relates to political and economic thought; contemporary Québécois fiction and film.

Teaching

Craig Moyes teaches on a range of undergraduates modules including: Introduction to French Literature, Text and Performance, French Narrative Texts,Comedy in French Literature before 1700, Final Year Core Language, Literary Representations of the Honnête Homme, The City in the Literature of the Ancien Régime and Beyond the Two Solitudes: Québécois Literature across the Canadian Bicultural Divide.

He also teaches a module on the MA/PGDip French Langauge and Culture programme entitled What is a (French) Classic?
