Visiting Scholars/Research Fellows

The Department considers applications for unpaid honorary appointments as a Visiting Research Associate/Fellow from researchers whose interests reflect those of the Department and who are able to finance themselves. The University may require payment of a bench fee (normally £100 per month) to offset administrative and supervision costs, depending upon the appointee’s circumstances, and the level and period of supervisory support required. Visitors are expected to contribute to the research activities of the Department during their stay, for example by offering seminars or lectures, and to make available any research outputs resulting from the appointment to be publicised as appropriate.

Invitations are subject to the number of research associates already visiting the Department at any given time, and are made on the basis of an evaluation of the visitor’s research proposal and likely contribution to the research profile of the Department.

If you are interested in visiting the Department as a Research Associate or Fellow, please forward a copy of your Curriculum Vitae and an outline of your research proposal and proposed contribution to the Department’s activities to french@kcl.ac.uk, or Department French, Virginia Woolf Building, 22 Kingsway, London WC2B 6LE.
