Level 5

Level 5 modules available in 2019/20

Module availability list 2019/20

* Please note: Changes to module allocations cannot be requested until August 2019 when the timetable is published.  If you wish to do so, you will need to complete a Module Change Request form at that point. *

Level 5 modules are second year level undergraduate modules.

  • All Year 2 students must take a total of 120 credits in their second year.

  • All single honours year 2 students take:
    - 30 credits from  the compulsory modules  5AAH0001 History &
      Memory I
     and 5AAH0002 History & Memory II
    - 90 credits from optional Level 5 modules: 1x Group II module (30 credits), 
      1x Survey module (30 credits), and 2x 15-credit modules (one per semester

  • In History, combined honours Year 2 students take:
    - 30 credits from 1x Group 2 module OR 1x Survey module
    - 30 credits from 2x 15-credit modules (one per semester)

  • Year 2 students may elect to take an external module (intercollegiate,
    from another department, Opportunity, or an MLC language module, where applicable).

  • Some modules have prohibited combinations. This means that you cannot take both modules during the course of your degree.

  • For students on the BA Liberal Arts programme, please consult your Student Handbook for the list of modules that you are eligible to request from this department.

Opportunity Modules

The Faculty ‘Opportunity modules’ are an innovative initiative to create novel spaces in which students can try something outside their own disciplines. They are specifically designed to be accessible to a wide range of students from across the Faculty and provide them with a supportive environment in which to experience cutting-edge research-informed teaching in subjects other than their own.
