This is a Latin course for absolute beginners who have never studied Latin, or for those who have forgotten most of what they once learnt. Students will acquire a solid foundation in the grammar, vocabulary, and syntax of classical and medieval Latin. Most students will be medieval historians who aim eventually to read untranslated primary sources. But those interested in Latin of all types and periods are welcome.
Students are encouraged to take part in the annual medieval Latin play.
