Educational and Professional Background

Helen Prior (née Daynes) studied as an undergraduate at the University of Hull before completing a Masters degree in Music Psychology at Keele University. She completed her PhD on Perceptual and Emotional Responses to Tonal and Atonal Music at the University of Hull, where she was supervised by Dr Elaine King. She lectured in Music and Music Psychology at the University of Hull and at the University of Sheffield, before joining the department at King's in September 2009. She is working with Professor Daniel Leech-Wilkinson on the CMPCP project, 'Shaping music in performance'
