Academic English & Study Skills
We continue to support you once you arrive at King’s by providing a series of classes dedicated to your needs, run by Study Skills in the Library and the English Language Centre. We offer academic language and skills support for all Kings students. All the courses are free, operate across all campuses, and start at different times throughout the academic year. The courses help you develop your academic language and study skills and make the most of your time at King’s.
Two types of support are available:
Study Skills for all King's Students
The study skills programme at King’s is designed to support the needs of all students from all levels and disciplines. Our dedicated team of PHD tutors will be offering a range of support to all students in mathematics, statistics and academic writing. Whether you are studying for pleasure, or to progress in your career, or have just been out of education for a while, we hope that you will take the opportunity to visit our Study Skills Centres based in the Maughan Library, the Weston Education Centre Library, Franklin-Wilkins Building Library and New Hunts House Library.
Please go to the Study Skills webpage for more information.
Academic English for International Students
This support is for you if your first language is not English and you would like some help in improving and developing your academic English. You can register for as many courses as you like, however you must not attend more than two sessions per week. Many sessions are repeated, therefore please only attend a specific session once.
These courses are only open to King’s students and staff. More information on all these courses and the registration process can be found at:
