Jurgis Karpus completed his BSc and MSc studies in Economics and Philosophy at the London School of Economics. After spending some time working in the City, from 2012 to 2017 he was a PhD student in Philosophy here at King’s College London, under the supervision of Natalie Gold, David Papineau, and Sherrilyn Roush.

Dr Karpus' areas of specialization lie in the fields of philosophy of economics and, especially, rational choice, decision theory, and game theory. He is also interested in interdisciplinary links between philosophy, economics, biology, and psychology. His recent research has been mostly focused on intertemporal choice: decision situations in which decision-makers’ choices in the present affect outcomes to be experienced in the future.
