The Institute of Philosophy at Stewart House
Based at Stewart House, in the University of London, the Institute of Philosophy
is at the heart of philosophy research in London, and the Department of Philosophy at King's is an active collaborative partner.
The Institute's aim is to promote and facilitate high quality research in philosophy, making it available to the widest possible audience both inside and outside the UK's academic community.
Seminar series and events
The Institute hosts a number of talks each week as part of a number of on-going series. They also organise one-off conferences which attract leading philosophers from around the world.
During term-time, the Institute hosts a number of Graduate seminars for research students from across London. Further, the Institute also organises three one day Graduate conferences each year, with speakers drawn from the postgraduate communities of King's, UCL, Birkbeck and Heythrop.
Every year, the Institute organises a join conference with UC Berkeley, with the location alternating between the two institutions each year.
The 2011 London-Berkeley graduate conference will be held in California, and King's will be represented by two of our graduate students (Peter Ridley and Jen Wright) and by Dr John Callanan.
