Peter Goldie Award
This studentship honours Peter Goldie, former Reader in Philosophy in the Department, who sadly passed away in 2011. This studentship commemorates Peter and his contribution to the Department, following a generous bequest from his estate.
Each year the Department awards one or more studentships to graduate students in the Department, taking into account academic merit and financial need.
The total amount available is currently £2,000 each year.
NB Although a single award is possible, where there are a number of deserving candidates the award will be split.
We accept applications from the 1 May of this academic year.
Eligibility and applying
To be eligible for these awards, students must be enrolled in a postgraduate programme of study in the Department during the current academic year and have an offer of a place on the MPhilStud or MPhil/PhD programme in the Philosophy department at King's College London for the following year.
The deadline for applications is the 1 July of this academic year.
To apply, please send:
- a copy of your (academic) CV; and
- a covering letter, addressed to 'The Department of Philosophy funding panel', detailing your current academic status, plans for the forthcoming academic year, and any other information you feel might support your application. You should also mention other sources of funding you have applied for and/or successfully obtained.
To be considered, please send the above documents in electronic form only (as doc or PDF attachments) to firstname.lastname@example.org
One application will result in your being considered for all awards for which you are eligible.
We hope that this added incentive will give you extra reason to apply!
