With over 400 students and over 30 staff, the Department is a large place. However, we're very happy that the Department remains a friendly place, with lots of activities - both in academic (through research seminars and special events) and social terms.
When you need help, your first port of call for most general queries will be the Department office (VB3.12). We're open Monday-Friday from 09.00 until 17:00, except on Wednesdays when we close at 14:00.The office is also closed between 10.00 and 11.00 on Mondays, and 11.00 and 12.00 on Fridays.
Our hard-working Professional Services staff will be able to help with most of your queries, and direct you to those who will be able to help with the rest.
You are also very welcome to knock on lecturer's office doors, particularly during their office hours, for academic discussion.
Virginia Woolf Building
As of September 2013, the Department has moved to our new building – the Virginia Woof Building (VWB) located at 22 Kingsway, just a five minute walk from the Strand Riverside Campus. Seven departments in the School of Arts & Humanities will be moving to the new building: Comparative Literature; English; European & International Studies; French; German; Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies; and Theology & Religious Studies.
The Department of Theology & Religious Studies occupies floor 3. There are kitchen and lounge areas for staff & students, as well as some study space for you to use with printing access and wireless internet connections. And there are a number of very nice smaller seminar rooms, so there will be some teaching in VWB.
We are hoping very much that you will make VWB your home at King’s, and we really look forward to sharing the building with you.
