The Ethel M Wood lecture
The Ethel M Wood Lecture is a University of London annual lecture which was endowed by Mrs Ethel M. Wood in 1947. It is administered jointly on behalf of the University by the Department of Theology at Heythrop College and the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at King's. Since its foundation in 1947 many distinguished speakers have lectured on topics within the broad field of Biblical Studies. The lectures are designed for students and informed members of the general public.

The Ethel M Wood Lecture 2019
The 2019 Ethel M. Wood Lecture will take place on Wednesday 24th April from 18.00 - 20.00. It will be delivered by Dr Lena-Sofia Tiemeyer, Reader in Hebrew Bible / Old Testament at the University of Aberdeen. Dr Tiemeyer will be speaking on the topic 'The Book of Jonah in Jewish-Christian Debate'.
This years lecture will take place in the Anatomy Lecture Theatre, King's Building. There will be a reception in the Anatomy Museum after the lecture.

The Ethel M Wood Lecture 2018
The 2018 Ethel M. Wood Lecture took place on Wednesday 7th February, and was delivered by Prof. Markus Bockmuehl, Dean Ireland's Professor in the Exegesis of Holy Scripture, University of Oxford. Prof. Bockmuehl spoke on the topic 'The Presence and Absence of Jesus in the New Testament'.
