I served as Lecturer in the History of Christianity from 2006 to 2013, before moving to Atlanta in the USA. My second book, The Soul of Doubt: the religious roots of unbelief from Luther to Marx will be published by Oxford University Press in 2015.

Research interests
  • The history of secularisation
  • Evangelicalism in the English-speaking world
  • The history of sport and leisure
  • The interface between history, philosophy and theology

His book, The Problem of Pleasure: Sport, Recreation and the Crisis of Victorian Religion, was published by Boydell & Brewer in February 2010. A review can be found here.

Dominic currently supervises students in the following areas:
