Research Seminars in the Department of Theology & Religious Studies

The Department of Theology & Religious Studies hosts a lively assortment of research seminars on themes stretching across the research strengths of the Department.

Often seminars are given by leading figures in their fields, invited from across the UK and further afield.

Research seminars held at King's College London

Biblical Studies research seminar

Speakers on Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, New Testament and Second Temple themes are drawn from King's, from other universities in the UK and beyond.

King's History of Philosophy seminar

The Seminar aims to promote discussion of methods and approaches to the History of Philosophy as well as of thinkers and topics within the tradition.

We wish to encourage contextual and interdisciplinary perspectives, and welcome researchers in disciplines such as History, Theology, and Political Theory as well as Philosophy. Meetings take place on Fridays from 11am to 1pm. All are welcome.

King's Theology seminar

The themes explored range over the whole of Christian theology, as well its relations with other disciplines and other faiths. Speakers are invited from universities and other institutions in the UK, and occasionally from abroad.

Sacred Traditions and the Arts seminar

The seminar on Sacred Traditions and the Arts is a joint venture between the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at King¹s and The Courtauld Institute of Art. It seeks to place researchers in dialogue who are working on any aspect of the sacred and visual culture.

Social Sciences and Religion research seminar

This seminar series provides an opportunity to get an insight into how social scientists approach the challenging issues through empirical research and theoretical analysis.
