PGR training programme
The College is a member of the Bloomsbury Postgraduate Skills Network and the Network's training opportunities are now open to postgraduate research students in the School. Please visit the Centre for Doctoral Studies web pages for further information. You may also be interested to visit the School of Advanced Study (SAS) and UCL's joint Research Training Calendar as you can register for these events as a student at King's.
The Centre for Doctoral Studies
The Centre for Doctoral Studies holds a series of induction sessions for postgraduate research students at the beginning of each academic year.
The aim of these events is to welcome new research students to King's and to provide an overview of doctoral student life from staff from across the university with a wide range of perspectives.
The induction session covers all research degrees and will introduce students to the role of the Centre for Doctoral Studies, Faculty Heads of Graduate Studies and key support services across the university.
In addition to this, the event will provide students with guidance on key topics such as 'writing for a research degree' and 'what people do with a research degree'. The induction event finishes with a drinks and canape reception where you will have the chance to meet and socialise with other research students and staff.
Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs)
There is specific training and induction sessions with GTAs are required to attend. Please see the GTA handbook for further info.
