Research ethics for postgraduate research students

If you are considering as part of your studies to be undertaking research, such as a long essay or dissertation, which concerns interaction and use of information gained from human participation (eg interviews or questionnaires), you will need to seek ethical approval for your project.  More information about research ethics can be found on the College Research Ethics pages.

Guidance & application forms

All applications will be considered by a panel and need to be submitted by the deadlines given on the Arts & Humanities Panel pages of the Research Ethics site. Applicants who urgently require their research to be considered for approval before the next meeting should write in the first instance to the Arts & Sciences Research Ethics Administrator. You must fully explain the circumstances why your application requires expedited review and why the submission deadlines could not be adhered to. If the application is granted expedited review, this will be carried out by correspondence between panel members.

Enquiries: Arts & Sciences REP Administrator, Daniel Butcher.
