Got an idea about what would make a KEATS area much better? Want to get experience of video-editing and web design? Then KEATS Champions is for you. KEATS Champions is an exciting project in Arts & Humanities where students are invited to work on enhancement projects and also suggest ideas for improvement.
How do I become part of KEATS Champions?
There are two ways to get involved. You can either suggest an idea yourself or you can be involved in implementing ideas from departments.
KEATS Champions will support a range of projects in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities to develop KEATS areas and other e-learning material, working with the Faculty TEL team and academic staff. You may be involved in implementing an idea from an academic or a student.
Why should I get involved?
Whether you suggest the idea yourself or you are involved in creating the content, being a KEATS Champion is great for your CV, not only for the digital skills you will learn, but also project management, communication and organisation.
If you're involved in implementing the idea, you'll be paid an hourly rate of £10.20 for the work you do.
I have an idea for improving my module area....
I want to be involved in implementing other peoples ideas....
What sort of things can I suggest?
You might think that your KEATS module area could be improved by a video introduction or a quiz or just by creating some more interactive content - this is the type of thing we are after. We want KEATS module areas to be useful and interactive spaces where students learn effectively and get the most from a module.
How do I suggest an idea?
If you've got a good idea, register your idea on this form. We will then start a conversation between you and the module convenor to ensure they are happy with the idea. We'll work with you to bring your idea to life. You can either be involved in producing the content yourself or we can recruit another student to do the work.
What happens next?
We will contact you to talk through your idea further with the module convenor. If you want to be involved in creating the end content, see the box below.
What type of work will I do?
The work done under this strand will depend on what the department wants. You could be filming and producing a video, creating an interactive quiz or adding in resources to the module areas.
You will be paid according to the rate of £10.20 an hour.
What experience do I need?
You require no specific qualifications to become a KEATS Champion. Training and support will be provided, covering the usability, accessibility and design standards outlined by the Faculty. Basic pod casting, video editing and simple post-production techniques to blend media elements together, will also be given if required by the project.
How do I apply?
- If you're interested in becoming a KEATS Champion, please fill out this form to register. We will contact you to organise a welcome session and then when work becomes available.
- You also need to register with King's Talent Bank as this is how you will be paid when completing any KEATS Champion work.
What happens next?
We will contact you with work and match applicants to appropriate projects based on their experience and skills. All projects are proposed by Departments and so the amount of work cannot be guaranteed.
