Led by Executive Dean, Stephen Bach, The King’s Business School Senior Leadership Team advances this vision with strategic and operational oversight of the School’s activities and our future direction.

Executive Dean

Professor Stephen Bach

Stephen has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and performance of King’s Business School. Working with each Vice Dean, Stephen leads the School’s future direction around three key areas of activity – Research, Education, External Engagement. Stephen works externally to support the reputation and development of King’s Business School with partners, industry connections and peer institutions in London and globally. Stephen Chairs the School’s Senior Leadership team. 


Vice Dean, Research

Professor Ko de Ruyter

Ko de Ruyter

Ko leads King’s Business School’s Research agenda. Ko provides clear strategic direction on the School’s vision, priorities and objectives for research; including research excellence and grant capture. Working alongside the Vice Dean for Impact and Innovation, Ko drives our research to have demonstrable impact on the economy and in wider society. Ko represents King’s Business School on wider King's College London Research committees. Ko chairs the School’s Research Committee.


Vice Dean, International

Professor Igor Filatotchev

Igor Filatotchev

Igor provides leadership on the expansion of King’s Business School’s global footprint. To deliver this this, Igor will create a distinctive portfolio of partnerships with peer institutions around the world. Igor leads the strategy for International, and creates opportunities for collaborations with the School’s international partners, from academic exchange to joint programmes. Igor represents King’s Business School in the wider KCL International Committee. Igor is currently identifying and securing the School’s initial portfolio of partnerships.


Vice Dean, Education

Professor Sally Everett


Sally leads on the development, implementation and promotion of the King’s Business School’s education strategy. Working closely with the Dean, Sally ensures that the School creates a supportive, reflective learning environment and that we are implementing new ways of learning to programmes, with particular focus on technology-enhanced learning. Working with the central college, Sally ensures that King’s Business School aligns with the wider King's College London education strategy. Sally has oversight and responsibility for TEF and NSS performance, and chairs the School’s Education Committee.

Vice Dean, Staffing

Professor Gulcin Ozkan


Gulcin oversees the processes that govern probation, promotion, performance, equality and diversity for our academic staff. Gulcin leads on the design and delivery of the School’s academic performance framework and works with the Dean to moderate academic promotions. Gulcin is responsible for promoting equality and diversity principles throughout the School and to liaise with King's College London human resources department to ensure best practice is upheld. Gulcin chairs the School’s Academic Staff Committee.


Associate Dean, Doctoral Studies

Dr Uta Bindll 



Uta leads the King’s Business School PhD programme. She is responsible for designing the programme, ensuring the quality of our students and that the King’s Business School offer remains competitive in the wider marketplace. Uta oversees the wellbeing of PhD students and tutors at the School; and works with central King's colleagues to ensure consistency and prominence of the PhD programme. Uta chairs the PhD Appointments Committee.

Associate Dean, Impact and Innovation

Professor Damian Grimshaw

Damian provides strategic direction to Kings Business School’s research impact and innovation agenda. Damian works with individual academics and research groups to provide guidance on advancing the reach and influence of King’s Business School research. In collaboration with the Vice Dean for Research, Damian will devise and implement best practice and goals for the School’s innovation and impact agenda based on sector-wide trends and developments. Damian works with the Vice Dean, Research, in leading preparations for REF 2021.

Associate Dean, Executive Education and Accreditation

Professor Crawford Spence

Spence CrawfordCrawford leads King’s Business School’s external connectivity. He is responsible for devising and implementing the School’s strategy for relations with business, public sector, third sector and start-ups. In doing so, Crawford oversees the development of King’s Business School’s visibility to and engagement with these stakeholders. Crawford is also responsible for creating the channels for external engagement at King’s Business School. Crawford is currently devising the School’s executive education strategy and is the academic sponsor for global accreditations.

Faculty Operating Officer

Dr Suzanne Marcuzzi


Suzanne leads the Professional Services team at King’s Business School, supporting the Senior Leadership Team to deliver the School’s Mission and Vision. She has oversight of the strategic development of PS functions, their relationship to central KCL functions and the School’s overall financial performance. Suzanne also chairs the School’s Professional Services Leadership Team.



Heads of Group

The Senior Leadership Team is further comprised of the heads of the School’s seven academic subject Groups. Heads of Group lead the day to day running of each subject-area and set its strategic direction alongside their School-wide responsibilities as part of the Senior Leadership TeamCurrent Group Heads are:
